SONOCAT?
SONOCAT is a sound source exploration system that uses a multifunctional spherical microphone array made of aluminum to visualize and analyze sound fields in detail.
Eight digital MEMS microphones mounted on the sphere can measure not only sound pressure, but also acoustic power, 3D acoustic intensity, and even sound absorption coefficient in real time. Its greatest feature is its handy, highly portable design, which eliminates the need for special environments such as anechoic chambers, allowing for immediate understanding of acoustic characteristics on-site.
Data recorded by the microphones is processed by a built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor), and it achieves plug-and-play"" functionality by simply connecting to a PC with a single USB cable.
